I have six kids but intend this to be used as a baby shower gift. From the picture, I was hesitant as it has a wider base than my high chair. After putting it together so the Mom to be wouldn't have to assemble it (plus I am super picky about safe baby items, so I want to see any major gift fully assembled), I can say that I wish I had something like this starting with my first baby. Most parents in the US only have a couple children, buying a product that only works for a narrow developmental stage doesn't make sense. This will probably work into early grade school and maybe even beyond if my kids enthusiasm over the building block aspect is any indication. This is a high chair that converts to a table with storage compartment and a little chair. There is a plastic insert that can be flipped when in the table position and can be used as a flat coloring surface/kids table at thanksgiving, or as a building block station with storage for Legos. I tried it with duplos and they fit nicely. The high chair, table, and chair configurations are all extremely sturdy. The chair locks in securely in the high chair position. Other really nice aspects of this set- padding is easily wiped down and the high chair eating surface has a trey that can be removed and washed. A huge bonus- they even include extra safety straps. If you have ever had kids, that is the one thing that gets straight up gross.
