Purchased this for our 16 year old who wanted to space for a desk. She's roughly 135/140lbs and it feels sturdy and secure with her weight. It looks nice in her bedroom and is honestly the perfect size for her small 10x10 foot bedroom. Still leaves her with plenty of space and her room no longer looks cluttered. We purchased fabric cubes to slide into the shelves and she uses that space for socks and undergarments. The only thing I had to purchase was foam strips to add to the stair steps. Without the foam on the steps it would hurt anyone's feet to climb up barefoot. But overall I would recommend. The price dropped by $30 about a week after I purchased and I asked for a price match but the seller didn't approve it. So keep that in mind. Wait for the discounted price if $30 difference is important to you.
