To every previous reviewer , who said this thing sounds cheap and tinny, i respectfully disagree. The 1999 wires for the speakers were a bit of a surprise , but they were easy to hook up, and the sound that comes out of these things is surprisingly good. the trouble is bright and sharp without distortion.And the base is enough to thump without getting distorted , either. fM radio reception is not the best.No matter how I try to place that antenna , but that's about the only complaint I have with this unit. i use It primarily to play CD's or stream from my laptop and both are very easy to do. I like the fact that it came with a remote. i even like how those little dials bounce around while the music is playing. i'm extremely happy with this unit. i bought it for my home office and it does a great job of playing music while I work. It even has Nipper,the dog who once represented Victrola and his Master's voice on the front. The history buff in me really digs that as well.
