The backpack is roomy on the inside and will hold regular size folders for homework. It has one compartment on the inside and a zippered pouch on the outside.

I really love the reflective strip on the backpack right below the small zipper in the front and two small strips on the shoulder strap which depending on the size of child could be in the chest region or at least the rib cage. Inside has a laptop pocket no velcro but not really an issue to my child. Theres two waterbottle holders on the exterior and overall its a cute bag with all the characters. Comes with an extra Super Mario wristlet keychain thats clipped to the zipper.
