So far it works great to cut really thick cardstock. And does have a lock for the handle to hold the arm down when not in use. So far it has been a good purchase.

cheap and will not last long.
The blade handle is not a part of the blade (sandwiched on each side of the blade) but attached to the end of the blade, it is a weak connection. In heavy use, it has a strong potential to fail. The base is too light and unstable. A anti-skid pad will be needed to prevent it from sliding around during operation. The blade though sharp when new appears to be mild steel and will dull quicky when cutting paper unless it made from tempered knife grade steel.
