This yarn is the 5 weight of Mainstay's velvet yarn. It is extremely soft and has a smoother feel than Mainstay's 6 weight velvet yarn. Works up beautifully for crocheted items like baby afghans. As an experienced and avid crocheter, I prefer this 5 weight soft velvet to comparable brands that are similar.
