Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer Hydrate and Illuminate

This primer is a silicone based product that is infused with glowy particles to help the skin with hydration and luminosity. On application, the product was so smooth and glided over my skin easily. It created an excellent base for makeup and allowed concealer and foundation to be applied easily for a smooth airbrushed finish. The added mica particles left my skin looking glowy and radiant. I also enjoyed using the primer on its own - for its smoothing effect and to also minimise the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation. The texture of the product also helped to reduce flaky skin, dry patches and minimize the appearance of enlarged pores in my t-zone area. Overall, I enjoyed this primer. It left my skin feeling soft and looking younger - what is not to love?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never used a primer before--it just seemed to me like one item too many. I've tried eye primers and found them to be pretty useless and also irritating to my eyes. However, the new NbN primer is something different. While it does exactly what a primer should do - provide a base for foundation that helps even out the skin tone and allows the foundation last longer, the "hydrate and Illuminate" primer leaves my mature skin looking more glowy, more radiant from the "light reflecting pearls" (mica?) it contains, and most importantly, actually improves my skin with high quality, healthy ingredients. These include things like Kakadu Plum, Lilly Pilly, Papaya, Hyaluronic Acid and Olive Oil. My skin really tends to the dry, especially in winter when heating dehydrates it, so the extra moisturisers work wonders. The small, classy tube is easy to carry in a bag, and the white lotion is very lightweight, absorbing quickly into the skin and drying in a few seconds. You can put your foundation on in a few minutes (I usually start with moisturiser, then do my eyes while the moisturiser dries, then put on primer, do my lips, and then foundation. That's my full workday makeup routine - it takes about 5 mins. The scent is light but lovely - like gardinias - and very natural and pleasant, dissapating quickly. I find my makeup lasts all day and into the evening without caking or needing to be reapplied even if I'm going straight out to dinner after work. Instead of being an extra step, I find that using this primer actually eliminates the need for touch-ups, so it's cost effective and efficient. Best of all, it's NbN, so it's an ethical, Australian product with ingredients I feel good about putting on my face.
