Gets the job done

This file cabinet is well constructed. In industrial settings where I have worked, many filing cabinets (especially the older ones from the 1960's - 1980's) were built from heavier steel. This cabinet has thinner metal construction compared to those old units. But the unit seems thicker and more sturdy than the ones I looked at in Staples when I was shopping. I think the thickness of the metal is appropriate for a Home Office. The handles are sturdy and well made. The holes in the front of the drawer aligned perfectly for easy installation of the handles. The drawers slide smoothly in and out. The red colour looks great and several people have commented that it looks stylish. It is not Legal width, it is Letter width. The letter-sized file folders hang on the sides of the drawers themselves, so there is no internal frame needed to hold the hanging folders. The key was hooked onto the inside of the lock so it could be found easily, The handles and screws were individually wrapped in perforated see-through plastic bag, each in its own pouch. It arrived in perfect shape with no dents or scratches. The shipping experience was quite extraordinary. I received an initial tracking notice and watched it travel from the warehouse to a transfer point near the US-Canada border. Then I was given a different tracking number that showed its progress from the border to Toronto. It arrived three days before the estimated arrival date. Not sure what else to say in this review except that I might buy another one.
