LG 77" Class OLED C8 Series 4K (2160P) Smart Ultra HD HDR TV - OLED77C8PUA

The LG brand of OLED TV displays have dominated the market since its inception and I've been pleased that my 65 inch LG C8 OLED has stood up to the test of time. While pricy at that time due to its cutting edge OLED technology - it has been totally worth it. The screen is incredibly thin and the design still gets compliments to this day for its modern looks. For an 8 year old TV, the fact that I have continued to get software/firmware updates shows how serious LG is with their product support. The mouse cursor functionality is my favorite part of the OS and user design. I wish they would bring back the cute bean bird animation in future models. It's fast to type with, and even today all of the Apps function well such as the built in Youtube, Netflix, Disney Plus, etc. 4k HDR content looks lovely (true blacks yay and infinite contrast) and I frequently use it for gaming on my PS5 and Switch 2 because its just that good and the input lag is low. The OEM speaker sound is good enough, but I instead have it connected to my 5.1.2 surround sound system for movies and gaming in Dolby Atmos. I don't really use the AI assistant and Ads so can't speak to that, and I feel the controller could be a better higher quality for the premium price you are paying for the TV. The TV is seamless with Airplay so you can stream videos and pictures straight from your phone, which is perfect when having family time. I have the TV directly plugged in via ethernet to reduce any streaming issues that Wifi has, and I do wish LG enhance the ethernet to a 1 Gbps to be more modern. I am. happy to report no burn in so far either, although I am mindful not to use the TV to display anything static for too long. Of course, the colors POP due to the OLED display. The display is in my media room with no windows, so the less brightness vs other TVs is not as noticeable but do be mindful if you have the TV somewhere else like outside. Finally, I do use the ATSC (TV Tuner) to watch over the air TV / local channels. It works well, although you can tell sometimes when it gets upscaled from 480 resolution. This TV has been a joy to own and has surpassed my expectations in both quality and in the test of time. It has provided countless hours of fun and memories, from playing games with friends to watching movies and shows with my wife. I guess one downside is they didn't have an 83 inch model, but that has been fixed with the newer models : )
