Instructions

. Preparation: Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. Clean with soap and water, rinse and let dry. Warning! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. Lead is Toxic. Contact the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. Priming: Use of a Stops Rust® Primer provides added corrision protection, superior adhesion and hiding and is especially recommended for bare wood and metal. Painting: Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. Shake often during use. Hold can upright 10-12' from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Bright Coat finishes are not recommended for outdoor use. Dry & Recoat Times based on 70F-50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to touch in 1 hour, and fully dry in 24 hours. Primers may be top coated immediately. Apply a second coat within 1 hour or after 48 hours. A clear coat finish is not recommended. Clogging: If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick a pin or other objects into the stem.

Safe Handling Instructions

DANGER! EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE LIQUID AND VAPOR. VAPORS MAY CAUSE FLASH FIRE. CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE. CONTAINS: TOLUENE, ACETONE AND PETROLEUM DISTILLATES. Vapor harmful. May affect the brain or nervous system causing dizziness, headache or nausea. Causes eye, skin, nose and throat irritation. Do not puncture, strik or incinerate (burn) container. Exposure to heat or prolonged exposure to sun may cause bursting. Do not expose to heat or store at temperatures above 120°F (48°C). NOTICE: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. VAPORS MAY IGNITE EXPLOSIVELY. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flames and pilot lights and turn off stoves, heaters, electric motors and other sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build-up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross-ventilation. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. Do not breathe dust, vapors or spray mist. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headache or dizziness or if air monitoring demonstrates vapor/mist levels are above applicable limits wear an appropriate, properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) during and after application. Follow respirator manufacturer's directions for respirator use. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. FIRST AID: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical attention immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. A flawless mirrored gold finish! Easily applied, and no prep was even needed. It worked perfectly on artificial pics and stems, an outdoor metal glass top table. It's very durable and has held up to various put up and take downs and touches and cleanings. The spray nozzle never clogged like some other gold paints do.
