There were a lot of pieces to assemble. I had an experienced contractor help with mine. If you aren't particularly handy with tools I would recommend paying to have it preassembled. With that being said, nothing was missing, all parts were labeled and everything lined up perfectly. I bought this for use in my sewing room. It looks clean and bright. The vertical storage space was a game changer for the organization of my many supplies.

Great bookshelf. It took me about 3 hours to build, but I had little helpers. I absolutely love the green. However if you place two shelves (both green) next to each other, they appear different. Slightly annoying but once full (and they are loaded down) it's not as noticeable.
