instructions clear 9 steps and together. railings are smaller then thought if yoy have 12 inch mattress there will he no gaurd rail. i would do a thinner mattress for more of a rail love the color a little bit more of a tan wood then the photo shoe but love the color more in person, looks like real pine wood, slide durable, bottom of slide is a littke rough when slide we put a cushion or blanket over bottom or if your child can keep clothes on they should be okay mine just likes being in diaper.

Nice little bed!

The gray color is nice and neutral for any kids room. Our kiddo has an easy time getting up and down the step ladder and it's sturdy enough for a parent to go up for storytime as well. We went with a 5" mattress but it can easily accommodate a 6" and still have a substantial safety rail. Assembly was simple and the under bed play area is an added bonus. Highly recommend.
