I've tried just about every kind of cutting board (except for the new titanium kind). I've made quite a few in various wood as well. I think bamboo comes close to being the ideal material. It doesn't gouge much, it's not prone to warping, and it is fairly water resistant. I have also concluded that you need multiple boards, because you want to move from one food to another without stopping to wash your board. Finally, you need to be able to store them within reach to keep from banging your head on the cabinet! A juice groove keeps the juice on the board, otherwise you're wiping down the counters. And then, when you want to drain that juice, it's nice to be able to control where it goes. You see where I'm going with this, right? On top of all that, it's a really nice looking set! This one checks all the boxes. Recommended. Slice your chicken, beef, carrots, and mince your garlic. Leave your fingers out of the equation.
