For a while we have used Chessmen Butter Cookies when making banana pudding, however as a special treat I decided to use the Nilla Vanilla Wafers along with the butter cookies to see what the outcome would be, as usual it was a great idea. That old fashioned taste combined with the butter cookies was fantastic . I will be trying this recipe again.The left over wafers became sweet snacks after the pudding was gone

I only use these night brand vanilla wafers in my banana pudding. I do not use the generic cookies. I like how to taste. I like how the texture last and not go soggy before you serve the dessert. There is no better wafers than Nilla wafers.

You can't go wrong with Nilla brand wafers. I've tried off brand wafers and they just do not do the name brand justice. Pay a little bit extra and get the name brand vanilla wafers. These make an excellent snack. Great replacement for regular cookies and are good to pack in kids' lunches.
