It takes some assembly, but I knew that going into it. I got it all put together and to my dismay, one of the drawers had some wood broken in one side that I didn't see. Thankfully because I had shopped at Walmart, I called them up and they totally made it right. I love ordering from Walmart for the very reason. As for the dresser, it's still holding up swell. I have several children and it hasn't broke yet. The drawers are smooth and easy to clean. It was the perfect size for my space. One note of assembly- I had some wood glue that I used for all The dowel joints. Highly recommend that. I really believe it helped hold it all together. Be prepared to have an hour or more for assembly, but if you do a good job- it's an excellent dresser for the $$$.
