I will forever keep a kit in my glove box

Picked up a screw in my tire, resulting in a slow leak. I was going to bring it to the mechanic for the usual $30 repair, but figured I'd give it a try myself. Didn't even need to remove the tire, as it was on the front and I was able to turn the steering wheel to give me better access. Pulled out the screw with a pair of pliers, reamed the hole, squeezed the included adhesive/lubricant on the plug, jammed it in the hole, refilled the tire. Done. All in all I think it took maybe five minutes. It's been a week or so, and it's holding air. Simple, old school technology that works as well today as it did 50 years ago.

Saved me a ton!

Went to three tire stores, who told me the tire was irreparable and all three were rude while doing so. . Went to the local Ford Store to replace tires, and the service manager told me to plug it in myself, as he was not allowed to. He saved me a ton of money and made a customer for life. The kit was easy enough for an almost 80-year-old to handle. took 10 minutes and has been holding air for a month now.

Work good for me!

I have use this type of tire repair (and this same kit) in the past for emergency repairs. I would usually, after making a repair, take the vehicle to a tire shop and have them do a permanent repair from the inside of the tire using a patch kit. However, I have done these type of tire repairs in the past and they have held up very good without other repairs to the tires. Also, I have friends and relatives that have repaired their tires with this type of repair kit as a permanent fix. None of them has said they have ever had a failure. I guess if you know what your doing and make a good repair with this kit it will last. I would not recommend using this as a permanent fix if you do extreme driving, like racing, high speeds driving, off road driving, or operate extreme heat or cold conditions Just my two cents. YMMV.
