Beautiful shirt but runs small

I ordered a 3XL and was way too tight. Compared it to a 2X shirt from Old Navy (green shirt in photo). Not sure if its bc its a 3XL rather that a 3X but the shirt was super tight and became see through. Design is beautiful and shirt is true to pictures but would consider sizing up.
