I was looking for a thin rug that would not create a tripping hazard and which also had non-slip back, and this one is all that, as well as having a silky-soft feel. I have this under my bed, with the edges about 18" around the sides and bottom. I love stepping out of bed and onto a smooth service instead of the hardwood. This is a nice rug and it looks very good. I don't want to give the impression that this rug is cushiony, because that is not true, but it is very nice to the touch and it's exactly what I wanted.
