These little lanterns are "Solar Rechargeable" and quickly charged outside on a somewhat sunny day. Just pull handle up to open the light. We use them in dark spaces like closets, and under sinks, and if the power is out all over the house. I highly recommend these lights as a back up when the power is out or you just need extra light.
