I used this to wrap the top shelf of a wire shelving unit -- the kind that comes with plain MDF boards that look fine in a garage and nowhere else. Stretched it over the board, mitered the corners like wrapping a present, and stapled it down underneath. Two yards was enough with a little left over. The velvet has a nice weight to it, so it pulls taut without looking stretched, and the hunter green reads dark and clean rather than "fabric remnant." Corners folded down flat without a lot of fuss -- no fraying, no puckering once it was stapled. It's still, functionally, a shelf. But now it's a shelf I'd leave uncovered instead of hiding behind a basket.
