The case protects the phone from drops but has a "ribbed" side for better gripping and a hinged rectangular ring for a finger hold or a stand to support the phone in an angled position, either on the narrower "portrait" bottom or top edge or the wider "landscape" left or right side edge. I like the sliding camera door/cover that "clicks" into the open/closed position and the green color with black accents. Along the right side edge, the dual-function power button and finger print scanner is accessible, and the volume up and down buttons are covered but easily, reliably activated when pressed. Although the screen is exposed for viewing/touching, the extended trim "bumper" around it provides some protection from contact, if it lands with the screen down to the ground or other flat surface.
