I got two 90 pounders. So these are on the "cheap" end of adjustable dumbbells. The main draw of the expensive sets, which can be 2-3x the price of these, is that some are all metal and may resist dropping and breaking to some extent. The FitRX will probably break if dropped, it's almost entirely plastic. More expensive sets can also be lower profile, and feel more like regular dumbbells. All that being said... I love this cheap set. 5 lb increments, 90 lbs for $200? Can't be beat. And realistically, you shouldn't be dropping dumbbells anyway. If you're too weak to not drop a 10 lb weight, you should definitely be starting with 5 or 2.5lb regular dumbbells (no shame we all have to start somewhere). The somewhat long length does mean i have to do some lifts in a slightly different hand position/rotation from standard, and sometimes I accidentally clack the dumbbells against eachother, but it's manageable. Sometimes it's a little difficult to get the dumbbell back into the rack, as the weights on the bar have to line up semi perfectly with the ones left in the rack. None of this is a deal breaker, and if i had the money to spend again/start over, i would still buy this set. If i ever break these, or if i had 3x the budget, I would buy some expensive metal ones. Zero complaints though. Strength on a budget. 💪

I dont have any cons for this yet. The fit rx 1090 dumbells feel solid, clicks are good and positive, grip feels good. No issues so far. These i feel are great bang for the buck vs others at twice the price. I wont name drop but i have 5 to 52 lb dumbells from a different brand and im like ft rx better.

It's now been over a few months and I could not be happier with the functionality and ease of use!!! Let me first dismiss some of the complaints I see on the reviews here…… 1. Yes, they do smell! But quit being lazy and wash each plate! The smell goes away! 2. Yes, most of the time a plate doesn't exactly align when you go to put it back. But, you just need a second worth of patience to set it back in straight!! 3. If you're stupid and drop them aggressively they will probably break, but you're probably lifting too heavy if you feel the need to do that!! 4. If you actually read the directions the dumbbell won't get stuck if you align the markers like it says when you pull the weight off!! And if you push down slightly as you turn to change the weight (LIKE IT SAYS TO DO) it won't get stuck like some fools say on here' These dumbbells are worth every penny! They are tight and don't jiggle around like other adjustable dumbbells!! Extremely well made!! My last piece of advice similar to others on here who have mentioned it, it's a good idea to step on the middle of the base as you pull the weight off (if you have it on the floor) That's it! 10 stars!!!
