Great deal on a splitter. BE SURE TO UNSCREW BLEED VALVE BEFORE USE! I think many of the bad reviews are forgetting this critical step. We only encountered one log that it couldn't split. Unsure which type of tree it was but it was VERY heavy from being wet. Can't complain much as it's free wood found online. Just let it dry a bit and I'm sure it'll split no problem.

Have Realistic Expectations

Like every tool you can buy; if the price is cheap so is the product. Advice, just understand your planned usage. This log splitter is made of cheap materials and if you put logs on it that it says it can handle ----RUN from it. BUT, I bought it to split kindling out of 5 to 6 inch pieces and it works just fine; it is saving me a lot of hand splitting. It came with some loose bolts. They were loose because they were cross threaded. I expected poor/average quality control so I was not disappointed. Once I re-tapped them everything is fine. I would buy one of these again

I was skeptical this would work. I've used heavy-duty gas powered splitters for 50 years. This splitter is great! Solid construction, well designed and powerful. I've read some criticisms of this splitter but they just didn't apply to what I received.
