There are two side zip pockets in the front that are great for quick-reach items- hand sanitizer, ibuprofen, hand cream, snacks, etc. The interior pocket is huge - great for traveling and carrying items to and from school. I love the long strap so I can carry the bag on my should sometimes, and the large handle. It's great to have so many options. The water bottle pockets have good stretch, though they won't carry a really wide bottle. I got one that's the diameter of a soda can, but taller, and it fits perfectly.
