De'Longhi Magnifica Start Perfecto!

After a recent holiday in Spain where the villa had a high-end De'Longhi Rivelia that brewed awesome Americanos and espressos with the touch of a button, I looked into the product line. I settled on the mid-level Magnifica Start. Holding my breath it would not be nearly as good as the Rivelia, the Magnifica was better than expected! Easy set-up (following the directions), using the litmus paper for water hardness and then one simple calibration of the bean grind (while it's grinding so as not to skew the gears). Though not having an Americano button like the Ravelia, it's an easy two-button process, hitting the hot water button and then the 2X espresso button. Perfecto. The regular coffee setting brews a great cup and the espresso is filled with light brown creama! If you're pretty serious about coffee, hightly recommended.

Overall this machine makes coffee that is adequately strong, it has several temp settings and it is very easy to clean. I use it only with reverse osmosis water so that makes it even easier to keep clean. I'm glad I got this machine.
