Reviewing: Sealy Essentials Cool Touch Memory Foam Pillow This is my first time owning a memory foam pillow—I'm not unfamiliar with the material, I have slept on a memory foam mattress and worn shoes with memory foam inserts. But I've never used it for a pillow and the first time took a little getting used to due to its height and firmness, which is taller than my fiberfill pillows at just under six inches high. At first I thought it would cause my neck some strain but as I lay my head on it, the pillow foam began to conform to the back of my head and neck. The newness of the sensation kept me awake for a bit but eventually I dozed off and woke up well rested. I tried both sides of the pillow, at first using the gray quilted side that was apparently cool-to-the-touch material. I noticed a little difference between this side and the other side (white material) that's supposed to give a cozy feeling, and it did feel noticeably warmer. Both sides performed the same in terms of their firmness-to-give ratio, but I preferred the cool side. I tend to be into really soft pillows but maybe for the sake of good neck comfort it's time to adapt! It's definitely well-constructed and I regard the Sealy brand as the standard of comfort in the sleep products industry. Now I'll only need one pillow to sleep on.

I have been so pleased with this pillow. I actually feel more refreshed when I wake up each morning because I sleep better without getting overheated. It has an ideal combination of gel in the cushion to support my head and neck while I sleep. It is such a big difference from a standard pillow that you notice the difference immediately. The pillow has made a real difference in my sleep quality. This high quality pillow is well constructed with a zipper cover that is removable and washable. I love that I can wash it on a normal cycle with cold water and just let it tumble dry to refresh it periodically. I look forward to many more nights of good sleep with this terrific pillow.
