did not work as expected
I looked this up to find instructions or tips to get better results, but it looks like everyone else also struggles to get useful information from this instrument. It does turn on, the lights will flash, I hear the beeps, but it did not consistently identify any studs. Even after using a magnet to find all the nails and then drilling into the studs, I checked again with this instrument and it would either miss them completely, or identify the entire wall as a stud.

Do not purchase, horrible
This thing is horrible. It showed me where my studs were, I drilled and now have holes that are nothing but open air. I am so frustrated with this thing it's going in the garbage. What a waste.

Very poor quality stud finde
Wow, I thought I either had a dud unit, or I just wasn't doing something right with this thing, but after looking at the reviews, it looks like the product itself is just bad. I have had the same issues that everyone else has had. It randomly detects studs that are not there, will show runs of 12 inches across that it says are solid wood but it's open air behind them, and randomly says there is ac in places on one passenger, then no AC on the next. This is a bad unit that caused me a lot of frustration until today when I saw the 1 star reviews and realized it hasn't been me all this time.
