Installed and trouble free

Detects Smoke (from slow smoldering fires), flame particles (from fast acting fires), and CO ( Carbon Monoxide - from incomplete combustion) in one device, with an up to 10 year sealed battery. Prior owner of my house was blind, but did his own electrical work - - suffice it to say I have a detector in every room along with a fire extinguisher. Therefore I know that these detectors must be checked regularly, which I do. Hardwiring this would have required far too much work for me at age 70, even though I could have done it This company used to make 4-in-1 with Natural gas as well, but have stopped making batter operated ones. (I have separate Natural Gas detectors by each ignition source in the house.) Installation is relatively straightforward - - drill two holes into ceiling drywall or plaster, tap in drywall screw expander retaining devices, screw in screws partway, check for fit (tighten screws just to point where keyhole opening has screws ready to be firmly attached to device, put device on ceiling. Test to alarm. Test next week for alarm sounds, repeat test for next 520 weeks. PLus, you have to admire a seller (through Walmart) whose name is "3 Stooges., LLC" Sort of like that jelly brand-named "Smuckers" from several years aago.. "With a name that bad, it has to be good."; that was their ad campaign. Same thing here. Any company with the chutzpah to call themselves as a three stooges brand, has to be worth looking at.

USI Model MIC3510SB Fire and Carbon Monoxide Alarm

This review is for the USI model MIC3510SB Fire and Carbon Monoxide alarm. It came pretty quickly, on July 9, 2022. The manufacture date was January 14, 2022, so it had not been sitting in a warehouse for too long. I installed it easily using the provided drywall anchors. It came with a full owner's manual, and an electronic version is available from the USI website. I did not use the optional Tamper Resistant feature, as no one is going to touch it on the ceiling of my garage. The manual warns that in a garage you may get spurious carbon monoxide alarms from car exhaust. I park in the garage but have had no alarms. After installation I tested it per the manual and it tested exactly as written in the manual. It can't be connected with other detectors in your house. The battery is not replaceable, after about 10 years you replace the whole detector. It has a chirp to remind you when the battery level is low (about 10 years). I would recommend it.
