I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. I switched most of my proteins to plant-based. I still eat meat but the majority of what I have is plant-based and this tofu is the best. I was having trouble with the texture on the regular tofu even after I froze it for 3 days it was palatable and good. that was the extra firm from Aldi's Kroger and HEB. then I stumbled across this super firm at Walmart it's a little more expensive than the extra firm at the other stores but I will buy about $50 a month of this put it in my deep freezer and I use it as a snack or I stir fry it with a big batch of peppers and broccoli from Sam's it's delicious. it holds together very well. when I snack on it I usually will use a low sodium spice rub to dip it in or I use brags coconut amino acids as that taste just like soy sauce. in my younger days I was always told you can't have soy. but I've had thyroid cancer so I don't have a thyroid and I have really bad fibroids. but I noticed that when I include tofu in my diet the cramping and other symptoms nearly go away. anyway this tofu is awesome. sorry if there's none in the case I bought it all. LOL

fabulous warm or cold if you give them a chance to absorb a marinade flavor... I made a teriyaki marinade and cut it into cubes, put them in a mason jar and rotated in whenever I reached in the frig for something... they were fantastic as a meal or to put in a salad or just a snack! best idea ever! I'm trying an store bought orange/ginger marinade this time. The extra firm is the best choice for using as a meat replacement ( the extra soft is best for sneaking protein into desserts)

This is a wonderful source of protein and an excellent value for the money. Waaay cheaper than meat and super easy to use. I make whatever dinner I want (chili, pasta, etc.) and then just cut this into bite sized cubes and dump it in. I use this instead of a pound of chicken or ground beef. It’s also a good substitute for paneer cheese in curry recipes.
