Lifetime Spitfire 12 ft Tandem Kayak, Sunset Fusion (90915)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 5 kayaks, 11 chairs, 6 tables, and a backyard “Jeep” toy manufactured by Lifetime. The rear part of the keel broke off my tandem kayak, and Lifetime is sending out replacement parts with no questions asked, no fuss, no red tape. They stand behind their stuff and so their products retain value and usefulness. I am pleased with my purchases and will not hesitate to purchase from Lifetime.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We already own and are very pleased with our Lifetime Temptation kayaks. When we were visiting relatives we used a tandem boat and liked it, so we took the plunge and purchased a Spitfire 12T. Our maiden voyage was three days of camping and paddling the intercoastal waterways of Chesapeake, Virginia. The Spitfire handled a variety of conditions very well. Be prepared to go faster than you would on your single. It is fun to be able to communicate easily and essential because the paddlers have to work as a team. During this trip, we shared bow and stern paddling duties and the only time we wished we had our singles was when we came across some truck tires - we could have paddled them out with singles, the tandem would have been overloaded. The rear cockpit always had a small amount of water, this is a potential problem in colder weather. We talked with customer service and they are sending out some scupper plugs which should help. Overall I highly recommend this boat.
