This scooter was a lifesaver. I had a planned foot surgery that was going to render me non-weightbearing for two-three weeks. I deliberately purchased the scooter a couple of weeks before my surgery so that I could get the hang of it and practice transfers from the scooter to the shower, etc. By the time I had my surgery, I was a pro on the scooter. At 63 years old and a bit overweight, crutches were not going to work, but this scooter took me everywhere I needed to go, and my bad foot never touched the ground. The padding is comfortable on the shin/knee. The design of the knee pad is great because it allows the user to change body direction without turning the whole scooter. The brakes works well, but my husband had to tighten the cables about once a week to keep them sharp. Also, I recommend tightening all of the knobs after a week, as they tend to work themselves loose. This process is extremely easy, and a small inconvenience in light of the economical price. The bag on the front is great to carry small items while safely keeping both hands on the handle grips. The turning radius is a bit wide, but it looks like that is an issue with all knee scooters. The scooter is light, so it is easy to maneuver if your turn is too wide. Overall, I love this scooter because it allowed me to maintain some independence while recovering from knee surgery. Keep in mind that I only needed to rely on the scooter for two-three weeks. If you have a long-term recovery or permanent issue with mobility, you may want to opt for a more expensive model.
