I recommend buying rechargeable batteries, because they did run out kind of fast. It also has a port to plug in 6v cable is required separately if you dont want to purchase batteries. You can connect to phone as well and also has headphone port so only your kid can hear themselves:)

Purchased for 9 year old grandchild that loves it! Has had it for weeks and plays with it very often. If it should become noisy we ask to use headphones. Great item and allows kids to create all kind of mixes. Also has bluetooth. Make sure if you purchase to read the directions on how to turn off the Try Me mode. Highly recommend for kiddos!

We bought this for my 8 yr old son for Christmas and almost six months later he still loves it! My 3 and 11 yr old (and even my husband lol) like to play with it as well. In fact, it is frequently fought over toy when guests visit! They can hook their mp3 players up to it via Bluetooth and make beats along with their music. You can record your own sounds to add to your music. I'd recommend this to a friend!
