Old El Paso Original, the 1 oz packet, still tastes like taco night. I brown about a pound of ground meat, drain it, and use the whole packet. What keeps it from being a salty pile: • Drain the fat first so the seasoning sticks to the meat instead of the grease. • Add the water the directions call for. Dry dust is not a sauce. • Taste before any extra salt. The packet already handled that. Leftovers are better in scrambled eggs than as a midnight bowl, though the midnight bowl still happens.
