Great price for great diced tomatoes

I keep these and the 28 oz cans on hand because they are so versatile and add great flavor and texture to my soups, stews and sauces without adding any extra seasonings or water, the juice they are packed in is perfect, not too thick or to watery, it adds flavor but not too much fluid. The price is really a bonus too MUCH less than brand names and still a great flavor

Just how I like them.

I hate peeling and dicing tomatoes! I drain the liquid and serve this with tacos, nachos, and any other food we like peeled diced tomatoes on. They taste fresh and sweet. Just how I like them. :D I was buying Del Monte Diced Tomatoes with the Flavors of Basil, Garlic %26 Oregano, 14.5 oz Can, but discovered that I can add whatever spices I want to Great Value Diced Tomatoes in Tomato Juice, 14.5 oz Can and have the same thing or better. I prefer fresh garlic and basil.

Makes great gaspacho for the hot weather.

Saute some chopped onion, celery and green pepper and let it cool before adding to the chilled tomatoes (just put the cans in the fridge a few hours ahead of time). Add a splash of lemon for brightness and a bit of chopped chilies (your choice depending on how spicy you like it).
