The blanket looks fluffier and heavier than it actually is. Personally I would have liked a heavier blanket for the winter. I do not like to layer blankets when I sleep. But if you are a person that likes lighter warm blankets and is okay to layer blankets if you need more warmth, then this is a good blanket. Color is great. It washed well. Follow the instruction for washing.

This is now my favorite new blanket. It came enclosed with its own clear plastic storage pouch with a zipper. When it came, I took it out and found that it had what looked like little burlap shreds so into the washer it went. After its first wash, I looked it over and I am really pleased with the blanket.. It has a great soft feel to it, and the color is very vivid. It is a red and black plaid with a white backside. The backside looks like a sheepskin. The reason I like it is that with the contrasting colors on each side at night in the dark, I can now easily tell which side is which and easily untangle it after it gets tangled while I'm in bed. It is soft, comfortable and cozy. It now resides on top of the hope chest at the foot of my bed. Again, it's my favorite new blanket. I plan to purchase a second one in the near future just simply to have it around and it is an excellent accessory for decorating for winter time. Would I recommend it? Yes but then I tend to like these kinds of blankets. It is warm enough for whatever I need. I ordered this in the XL twin size because it is easy and lightweight to carry around and utilize plus, it's easy to run through the washing machine. It's not too big and heavy when wet and it's not too big for easy moving around and using on the bed. And when I order the 2nd blanket, I can spread them both out across my king size bed and it will look like one big blanket.
