To add a background in Zoom, follow these steps:

1. Open the Zoom app and sign in.
2. Click your profile icon, then choose Settings.
3. Select Background & Effects (sometimes called Virtual Background).
4. Click the plus (+) icon to upload your own image or choose from the available options.
5. Pick the background you want, and it will appear behind you during meetings.

Using a solid color backdrop, like a green screen, can help improve how your virtual background looks, especially if your lighting isn’t perfect.

You can find Zoom background images in several places:

• Zoom’s built-in library offers a few default backgrounds.
• Many websites provide free downloadable backgrounds, including office scenes, nature, and abstract designs.
• Walmart’s selection of photography backdrops can also be used as physical backgrounds for Zoom, giving your space a professional look without digital effects.

Just make sure any image you use is high resolution for the best results.

Yes, you can change your Zoom background before joining a meeting. Here’s how:

1. Open the Zoom app and log in.
2. Go to Settings > Background & Effects.
3. Choose or upload your preferred background.

This way, you’ll join your next meeting with your chosen background already set up. If you’re using a physical backdrop, set it up behind you before starting Zoom for the best effect.

To use a green screen for Zoom calls:

1. Set up your green screen backdrop behind you, making sure it’s smooth and well-lit.
2. In Zoom, go to Settings > Background & Effects.
3. Check the box that says I have a green screen.
4. Select or upload your virtual background.

A green screen helps Zoom separate you from your background, making virtual backgrounds look cleaner and more realistic.

The best backdrop size for Zoom meetings depends on your camera’s field of view and your space. Generally, a backdrop that’s at least 5 feet wide and 7 feet tall covers most backgrounds for seated calls. For tighter spaces or chair-mounted options, smaller collapsible backdrops can work well. Make sure your backdrop fills the camera frame to avoid showing your actual room behind you.
