Choosing a stapler depends on how you'll use it. If you handle lots of paperwork, look for a heavy-duty model with a higher sheet capacity. For everyday tasks, a standard or compact stapler works well. Consider features like jam-free technology, non-slip bases, or included staple removers for added convenience. If you want to reduce effort, some staplers offer one-finger or reduced-force operation. Think about where you'll store it—full-strip staplers hold more staples but take up more space, while compact versions are easy to carry. Matching your stapler to your needs can make office tasks smoother.

Loading staples is simple once you know your stapler’s style. Most desktop staplers open from the top or back. Here’s a quick guide:

• Press the release button or lift the top section to open.
• Insert a strip of staples into the tray, making sure they’re aligned properly.
• Close the stapler until it clicks shut.

Always use the correct staple size for your model to avoid jams. If your stapler includes instructions, check them for specific steps. Keeping the tray clean can also help with smooth operation.

To reduce jams, try these tips:

• Use the recommended staple size for your stapler.
• Don’t overload with too many sheets—stay within the stated capacity.
• Keep the staple tray free of dust and debris.
• Press down evenly when stapling.

Some staplers are designed with jam-free technology, which can help. If you do get a jam, use the staple remover included with many models to clear it safely. Regular maintenance can keep your stapler working smoothly for longer.

Many standard staplers can handle up to 20 sheets, but for booklets or thick stacks, you’ll need a heavy-duty or booklet stapler. These are designed to staple larger quantities and sometimes have a longer reach for binding booklets. Always check the stapler’s sheet capacity before use. For best results, align your papers neatly and staple firmly. If you often work with thick documents, consider a model specifically labeled for high capacity to make the job easier.

Absolutely! Here are a few ways to keep your stapler working well:

• Use only the staple size recommended for your stapler.
• Don’t force the stapler if it’s jammed—clear jams gently.
• Wipe the exterior with a dry cloth to keep it clean.
• Store in a dry place to avoid rust or damage.

Regular care helps extend the life of your stapler and ensures it’s ready whenever you need it for office or classroom tasks.
