A waterfall console table is a stylish piece of furniture known for its smooth, continuous lines. The tabletop and sides flow seamlessly into each other, creating a 'waterfall' effect with no visible joints or breaks. This design works well in entryways, behind sofas, or along hallways, adding a modern or minimalist touch to your space. Waterfall tables come in various materials like wood, acrylic, or glass, making them versatile for different decor styles. They're popular for their clean look and ability to blend into both contemporary and classic interiors.

It's possible to DIY a waterfall table if you have some woodworking experience and the right tools. You'll need to carefully cut your chosen material—often wood or plywood—at precise angles to create the signature seamless corners. Strong adhesives, clamps, and sometimes metal brackets help hold the joints together. Finishing touches like sanding and staining can enhance the look. If you're new to furniture building, consider starting with a simple design and always follow safety guidelines when using power tools. There are also online guides and videos that can walk you through the process step by step.

Entryway tables are often called console tables, but you might also hear them referred to as sofa tables, hallway tables, or foyer tables. The names can vary depending on where they're placed and how they're used. For example, a waterfall console table placed behind a couch is sometimes called a sofa table, while one in a hallway or entrance is typically called an entryway or foyer table. No matter the name, these tables are designed to add style and function to narrow spaces in your home.

To create a skinny console table, start by measuring the space where you want to place it. Choose slim materials like narrow boards or panels to keep the profile sleek. For a waterfall style, you'll need to cut the tabletop and sides at matching angles, then join them to form the signature continuous look. Make sure the table is stable by reinforcing the joints and using sturdy legs or supports. Finishing with paint or a wood stain can help the table blend with your decor. If you prefer not to DIY, Walmart offers a variety of ready-made skinny console tables in different finishes and styles.

Waterfall console tables are incredibly versatile and can be used in several spots around your home. Common placements include:

• Entryway: For a welcoming first impression and a spot to drop keys or mail.
• Behind a sofa: To display decor or provide extra surface space.
• Hallway: To add style without taking up much room.
• Bedroom: As a vanity or accent table.

Their slim design makes them ideal for small spaces, and their modern look complements a variety of interior styles.
