You can usually take off net hooks by easing the tension first and working slowly.

1. Reduce tension: Loosen or unclip the straps that secure the net to the poles or frame, and remove pole caps if present.
2. Protect your hands: Wear gloves to avoid pinches from tight loops or metal hardware.
3. Release the hook: For plastic clips, press any tab and slide them off gently. For S-hooks, push the attached loop toward the frame to create slack, then lift the hook out.
4. Work evenly: Move around the frame, removing every few hooks in sequence to prevent overstretching.
5. Store parts: Keep clips, caps, and straps in a labeled bag.

If a hook is corroded or stuck, a dedicated spring pull tool can make removal more controlled.

A dedicated puller is the safest option, but a few temporary stand-ins can help in a pinch.

• Strong cord/rope loop: Thread a loop through the spring’s end to create a handle and pull from a safer distance.
• Locking pliers: Clamp the final coil to get a firm grip; pull straight to avoid twisting the spring.
• Ratchet strap: Lightly cinch the mat toward the frame to reduce the force needed before attaching the last springs.
• Insulated screwdriver (caution): Slide the shaft through the last coil as a handle; wrap with cloth for grip and control.

Important: Wear gloves, keep fingers clear of pinch points, and stop if you feel excessive resistance. When available, a proper T-handle puller offers more control.

It’s possible, but take it slowly and prioritize control over force.

1. Stage the layout: Attach a few springs at 12 and 6 o’clock, then 3 and 9, to spread tension evenly.
2. Body position: Kneel outside the frame, keep your back straight, and pull with both hands to stay balanced.
3. Use a temporary handle: A sturdy cord looped through the spring end reduces pinch risk and improves leverage.
4. Work in a star pattern: Fill in opposite sides as you go so the mat tightens gradually.
5. Assess resistance: If a spring demands excessive force, recheck mat alignment or consider a dedicated pull tool.

Keep kids and pets clear of the area. Results can vary based on mat tightness and spring length.

A T-handle spring puller is the most commonly used tool for attaching trampoline springs.

• Why it helps: The T or grooved handle gives a solid grip, and the steel shaft with a curved tip lets you pull the spring end with better control.
• Compatibility: Most pullers are designed to work with standard trampoline springs of various lengths.
• What to look for: A non-slip handle, sturdy metal shaft, and a hook shape that seats securely in the spring’s end.
• Convenience: Some kits include additional accessories like ladders or stakes, which can support overall setup.

You can find universal spring pull tools in the trampolines accessories section online.

Focusing on control and preparation can make installation safer and smoother.

• Gear up: Wear gloves and keep eyewear handy to protect from slips or snap-backs.
• Inspect parts: Check the frame holes, V-rings, and springs for rust, cracks, or deformation; replace worn parts before tensioning.
• Balance the load: Attach springs in opposite pairs (12/6, 3/9) so tension builds evenly.
• Clear the area: Keep children and pets away while you work; avoid windy conditions that can move the net or mat.
• Use the right tool: A proper puller can reduce strain and improve control.
• Follow the manual: Model-specific steps may vary, so refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for your setup.
