Yes, you can often use your smartphone as a remote for your TCL TV, depending on your model. Many TCL TVs are compatible with remote control apps available for both Android and iOS devices. These apps typically connect to your TV via Wi-Fi and let you navigate menus, adjust volume, and even use voice search if your TV supports it. To get started, download a remote app that's compatible with your TV's operating system, make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, and follow the app's setup instructions. Features may vary by TV model and app.

There are several types of remotes that can work with TCL TVs, but compatibility depends on your TV's series and operating system.

• For TCL Roku TVs, look for remotes labeled as compatible with Roku-enabled TVs.
• For TCL Google or Android TVs, choose remotes designed for those platforms.
• Universal remotes may also work, but you'll need to check for TCL compatibility in the product details.

Many TCL TVs support remote control apps that can serve as a replacement for a physical remote. The specific app you'll need depends on your TV's platform—Roku, Google TV, or Android TV. These apps are available for download from major app stores and often provide features like touchpad navigation, keyboard input, and voice commands. Make sure your TV and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network for the app to work. While these apps are convenient, some advanced functions may require the original remote or a compatible replacement.

Pairing a new remote with your TCL TV usually involves a few simple steps, but the process can vary by remote type.

1. For infrared (IR) remotes, just insert the batteries and point the remote at the TV—it should work automatically.
2. For Bluetooth or voice remotes, you may need to access the TV's settings menu, select 'Remote & Accessories,' and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device.

If your TCL remote isn't working, try these troubleshooting steps:

• Replace the batteries with fresh ones.
• Make sure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV sensor.
• For smart remotes, try re-pairing them using your TV's settings menu.
• Check for any visible damage or stuck buttons.
