Not all Surface keyboards are compatible with every Surface tablet model. Before purchasing, it's helpful to check your device's model number and compare it with the keyboard's compatibility list. Many keyboards are designed for specific generations or sizes, so matching your tablet ensures a proper fit and full functionality. If you're unsure, look for compatibility details in the product description or ask a Walmart associate for guidance. This way, you can avoid issues with connectivity or features like trackpads and backlighting not working as expected.

• First, make sure your Surface tablet's Bluetooth is turned on in the settings.
• Switch on your keyboard and put it into pairing mode—usually by pressing a dedicated button or holding a key combination (refer to the keyboard's manual for details).
• On your tablet, search for available Bluetooth devices and select your keyboard from the list.
• Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

Once paired, your keyboard should be ready to use. If you have trouble, restarting both devices or re-pairing can often help.

When choosing a Surface keyboard, consider features that match your needs:

• Backlit keys for typing in low light.
• Multi-touch trackpad for easier navigation.
• Rechargeable battery for convenience.
• Pen holder or storage if you use a stylus.
• Magnetic attachment for a secure connection to your tablet.

Think about where and how you'll use your keyboard—at home, on the go, or for work—to pick the features that make your experience smoother.

• Turn off and disconnect your keyboard before cleaning.
• Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the keys and surface.
• For tougher spots, slightly dampen the cloth with water—avoid using harsh cleaners or getting moisture inside the keyboard.
• Compressed air can help remove crumbs or dust from between keys.

Regular cleaning can help your keyboard last longer and keep it looking new. Always check the manufacturer's care instructions for your specific model.

Many Surface keyboards, especially Bluetooth models, can connect to other compatible devices like laptops, tablets, or smartphones. To do this, put the keyboard in pairing mode and connect it through the Bluetooth settings of your device. However, some features—like special function keys or trackpads—may work differently depending on the operating system. Always check the product details for compatibility information, and remember that performance can vary between devices.
