Sun print paper, also known as cyanotype paper, uses a special light-sensitive coating that reacts to sunlight. When you place objects like leaves or stencils on the paper and expose it to sunlight, the covered areas stay white while the exposed parts turn blue. After exposure, you rinse the paper with water to reveal your design. This process is popular for DIY crafts, educational projects, and creative art because it's simple and doesn't require extra chemicals or equipment.

• Nature Prints: Use leaves, flowers, or feathers to create botanical art.
• Stencil Art: Cut out shapes from paper or use lace for unique patterns.
• Photo Negatives: Place transparent images to make blueprints or silhouette effects.
• Educational Projects: Teach kids about light and shadow with hands-on experiments.
• Personalized Cards: Make custom greeting cards or bookmarks for gifts.

Sun print paper is versatile, making it great for both kids and adults who enjoy creative projects.

Sun print paper is generally considered safe for supervised use by children. The process involves placing objects on the paper and exposing it to sunlight, then rinsing with water. There are no harsh chemicals needed. However, adult supervision is recommended, especially for younger kids, to ensure safe handling and to help with the rinsing step. Always follow the instructions provided with your kit for the best and safest results.

1. Choose a sunny day: Direct sunlight gives the most vibrant prints.
2. Arrange objects flat: Make sure items are pressed close to the paper for clear outlines.
3. Limit exposure time: Most papers need just a few minutes in the sun; check instructions for specifics.
4. Rinse thoroughly: Wash the paper in water right after exposure to stop the reaction and reveal the image.
5. Let it dry flat: This helps prevent wrinkles and keeps your print looking sharp.

Experimenting with different objects and exposure times can help you discover your favorite effects.

Sun print paper is designed for single use. Once it's been exposed to sunlight and rinsed, the chemical reaction is complete, and the paper can't be used again for new prints. If you're planning multiple projects, consider purchasing a kit with several sheets. This way, you can try different designs and techniques without running out of paper.
