Sublimation printing is a process that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials like fabric, metal, or ceramics. Here's how it works:

• A special sublimation ink is printed onto transfer paper.
• The paper is then placed on the item you want to decorate.
• Heat and pressure turn the ink into a gas, which bonds with the surface of the item.

This method is popular for creating custom t-shirts, mugs, tumblers, and more, because it produces vibrant, long-lasting designs that don't peel or crack easily.

Sublimation works best on materials that are high in polyester or have a special polymer coating. Here are some tips:

• Polyester fabrics (at least 65% polyester) produce the brightest results.
• Cotton and natural fibers don't bond well with sublimation ink, so colors may appear faded or wash out.
• Some blanks, like mugs or phone cases, have a special coating to accept sublimation prints.

Always check the product description to make sure your blank is compatible with sublimation before starting your project.

Choosing the right sublimation paper depends on your printer, ink, and the type of project you're working on. Consider these factors:

• Paper size: Match the paper size to your printer and the item you want to sublimate.
• Weight: Heavier papers (like 120-125 GSM) are often used for larger or more detailed prints.
• Compatibility: Make sure the paper works with your printer model and sublimation ink.

Reading product details and reviews can help you pick the best paper for your needs.

Sublimation is great for personalizing a wide range of items. Popular options include:

• T-shirts and other apparel made from polyester
• Mugs, tumblers, and water bottles with sublimation coatings
• Phone cases, mouse pads, and keychains
• Photo panels, puzzles, and jewelry blanks

Always check that your blank is labeled as 'sublimation-ready' to get the best results from your project.

To help your sublimated items look their best, follow these care tips:

• For apparel, wash inside out in cold water and avoid bleach or fabric softeners.
• Air drying or using a low-heat setting can help preserve the print.
• For mugs and tumblers, hand washing is usually recommended, even if they're labeled dishwasher-safe.

Proper care can help maintain the vibrancy and longevity of your custom designs.
