A strut socket is a specialized tool designed to help you remove and install suspension strut nuts on vehicles. These sockets fit over the nut and allow access to the strut shaft, so you can hold it steady while loosening or tightening the nut.

• They’re commonly used in car, truck, and motorcycle repairs.
• Strut sockets come in various sizes and shapes to match different vehicle models.
• Using the right socket makes the job safer and helps prevent damage to the strut or nut.

If you’re working on suspension, having a strut socket can make the process much smoother.

To replace a strut, you’ll need a few key tools to get the job done efficiently and safely.

• Strut nut sockets for removing the strut nut.
• Ratchet and socket set for general bolts and nuts.
• Spring compressor if you’re dealing with coil springs.
• Wrenches for additional fasteners.
• Jack and jack stands to support the vehicle.

Always check your vehicle’s manual for specific tool sizes and safety instructions. Having the right tools can help make the process easier and reduce the risk of injury or damage.

A strut spreader socket is designed to help separate the strut housing from the steering knuckle during suspension repairs.

• You insert the socket into the gap between the strut and knuckle.
• Turning the socket gently spreads the opening, making it easier to remove or install the strut.
• This tool helps prevent damage to suspension parts and speeds up the process.

It’s especially useful for vehicles with tight suspension assemblies, allowing for safer and more controlled removal.

Yes, strut replacement often requires specialized tools to make the job safer and more efficient.

• Strut nut sockets are designed for accessing and removing strut nuts.
• Spring compressors are essential if your strut assembly includes coil springs.
• Strut spreader sockets can help with tight suspension setups.

Using these tools reduces the risk of damaging parts or injuring yourself. If you’re unsure about which tools you need, check your vehicle’s manual or consult a professional for guidance.

Choosing the right strut socket size depends on your vehicle’s make and model.

• Check your owner’s manual or the strut nut itself for size information.
• Strut sockets typically range from 13mm to 24mm and may have 12-point or 6-point designs.
• Using the correct size ensures a secure fit and prevents rounding or damaging the nut.

If you’re unsure, you can measure the nut or ask an auto parts specialist for help. Having the right size makes your repair work much easier and safer.
