Attaching a Starfleet patch is simple if you follow these steps:

• Iron-On: Place the patch where you want it, cover with a cloth, and press a hot iron firmly for 20-30 seconds. Make sure to follow the garment's heat guidelines.
• Sew-On: Use a needle and matching thread to hand-stitch around the edges for extra security, especially on frequent-wash items.

Double-check both the patch and your garment for care instructions. If you're unsure about the heat setting, start with a lower temperature and gradually increase it.

Absolutely! Starfleet patches work great on backpacks, hats, duffel bags, or any fabric item you want to personalize. Just make sure the material can handle ironing, or opt to sew the patch on instead. Some synthetic fabrics may be sensitive to heat—if that's the case, hand-sewing is a safe alternative for attaching your patch to accessories like hats or bags.

To keep your patches looking sharp:

• Turn items inside out before machine washing to protect the stitching and edges.
• Use gentle, cold-water cycles and mild detergent.
• Air-dry when possible instead of using high-heat dryers.

Avoid heavy scrubbing or ironing directly over the patch to help maintain its vibrant colors and secure attachment over time.

These embroidered patches are a popular choice for kids' clothing, jackets, and costumes. However, always ensure patches are securely attached to minimize any choking hazards with young children. If the item will get a lot of activity—like at conventions or playtime—consider sewing the patch on for extra durability rather than relying on the iron-on adhesive alone.

Iron-on adhesives work best with sturdy fabrics like cotton or denim. Delicate fabrics such as silk, nylon, or certain synthetics might be damaged by high heat or adhesives. If you're decorating a delicate material, it's a good idea to test on a small area first or sew the patch by hand for a safer option.
