Choosing the right size squirrel bed depends on your pet’s species and cage space.

• Measure your squirrel’s length and width while it’s resting.
• Check the product dimensions listed for each bed to ensure a comfortable fit.
• Consider if you want extra room for your squirrel to stretch or share with other small pets.
• Make sure the bed fits well in your cage without blocking access to food or water.

Taking these steps can help your squirrel feel cozy and secure in its new bed.

Squirrel beds come in a variety of materials, each offering unique benefits.

• Fleece: Soft and warm, great for colder months.
• Plush: Provides extra comfort and cushioning.
• Cotton: Breathable and easy to clean.
• Wooden frames: Durable and stable for active pets.

Look for beds with washable liners or removable covers to make cleaning easier. Always check for non-toxic materials to keep your pet safe.

Keeping your squirrel’s bed clean is important for its health.

1. Remove the bed from the cage and shake off loose debris.
2. Check the label for washing instructions—most fabric beds are machine washable.
3. Use mild detergent and avoid harsh chemicals.
4. Air dry or tumble dry on low, depending on the material.

For wooden or non-washable parts, wipe with a damp cloth and let them dry completely before returning them to the cage.

Many squirrel beds are designed for a range of small animals, including hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets, and chinchillas.

• Check product descriptions for compatibility.
• Consider your pet’s size and habits—some beds work better for burrowing, others for lounging.
• Multi-species beds can be a great option if you have several small pets.

Always supervise new introductions to ensure your pet feels comfortable and safe.

Placement matters for your squirrel’s comfort and safety.

• Hang hammocks or beds away from food and water to avoid spills.
• Choose a spot that’s sheltered from drafts and direct sunlight.
• Make sure the bed is securely attached to prevent falls.
• Allow enough space for your squirrel to move freely around the cage.

Experiment with different spots to see where your pet prefers to rest.
