Square handbags are often referred to as box bags, square satchels, or square crossbody bags. These names highlight their structured, geometric shape and compact design. You might also see them listed as mini square purses or square top handle bags. The style is popular for its modern look and versatility, making it a great choice for both casual and formal occasions. At Walmart, you'll find a variety of square handbags in different materials, colors, and sizes to match your personal style.

Designer handbag trends change each season, but right now, structured shapes like square handbags and boxy crossbody bags are especially popular.

• Bold hardware and unique textures like croc-embossed or quilted finishes are in demand.
• Mini and micro bags are making a statement for both day and evening wear.
• Classic colors such as black, beige, and metallics remain favorites, while bright hues and playful patterns are also trending for those who want to stand out.

Kate Middleton is known for her elegant and classic style, often choosing structured top handle bags and small clutches for her public appearances. She tends to favor compact, boxy handbags with clean lines and minimal embellishments, which pair well with both formal and casual outfits. While you may not find the exact designer pieces she carries, you can find similar square handbags and satchels at Walmart that capture her timeless look and versatility.

Looking ahead to 2026, bag trends are expected to focus on structured shapes like square handbags, versatile crossbody designs, and multi-compartment totes.

• Textured materials, such as faux leather and woven rattan, are gaining popularity.
• Convertible bags that can be worn multiple ways—like from shoulder to crossbody—are also on the rise.
• Neutral tones and bold accent colors will both have their moment, so you can choose what fits your style best.

Choosing the right square handbag depends on your needs and style preferences. Here are a few tips:

1. Consider size: Think about what you need to carry daily. Mini square bags are great for essentials, while larger ones fit more items.
2. Check the strap options: Adjustable and detachable straps add versatility, letting you wear it as a crossbody or shoulder bag.
3. Look at compartments: Multiple pockets help keep things organized.
4. Match your style: Pick a color and material that works with your wardrobe, whether it’s classic faux leather or trendy woven straw.
