Square griddles offer a larger cooking surface compared to round ones, making it easier to cook multiple items at once—like pancakes, eggs, or sandwiches. The corners provide extra space, which can be handy for fitting more food or for flipping and moving items around. Many square griddles are designed to fit over two burners, giving you more flexibility in the kitchen. If you often cook for a group or like to multitask, a square griddle can help streamline your meal prep.

• Let the griddle cool completely before cleaning.
• Use a soft sponge or cloth with warm, soapy water to wipe the surface. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, as they can damage the nonstick coating.
• For stubborn residue, soak the griddle for a few minutes before gently wiping it away.
• Dry thoroughly with a towel to prevent water spots.

Most nonstick griddles are not dishwasher safe, so handwashing is usually best. Always check the manufacturer's care instructions for your specific griddle.

Both grill pans and griddles can support healthy cooking, but they work a bit differently. Grill pans have raised ridges that let excess fats drain away from food, creating grill marks and a slightly charred flavor. Griddles have a flat surface, which is great for foods like pancakes or eggs that need even heating. If you're looking to reduce fat, a grill pan might help, but a griddle offers versatility for a wide range of recipes. The healthiest option depends on what you're cooking and your preferred cooking style.

• Pancakes, French toast, and crepes
• Eggs and omelets
• Grilled sandwiches and quesadillas
• Bacon, sausage, and hash browns
• Vegetables, burgers, and even flatbreads

Square griddles are versatile and can handle breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Their large, flat surface makes them ideal for cooking multiple items at once, saving you time in the kitchen.

Choosing the right size griddle depends on your cooking needs and kitchen setup. If you often cook for one or two people, a smaller griddle (around 10-11 inches) might be enough. For families or entertaining, a larger double-burner griddle provides more space for multiple servings. Also, check your stovetop size to make sure the griddle fits comfortably and heats evenly. Consider storage space as well, since larger griddles may require more room when not in use.
