The Split Pad Pro is designed to give you a more comfortable handheld gaming experience compared to standard Joy-Cons. Key differences include:

• Ergonomic shape: Larger grips help reduce hand fatigue during long sessions.
• Full-size controls: The buttons, sticks, and triggers are bigger and more similar to traditional controllers.
• Extra features: Some models offer assignable rear triggers for added customization.

It's a great option if you prefer a controller feel while playing your Nintendo Switch in handheld mode.

The Split Pad Pro is designed specifically for handheld mode and connects directly to your Nintendo Switch via the rails. It does not support wireless or Bluetooth connectivity, so you can't use it detached from the console or for tabletop play. If you're looking for a wireless controller, you may want to explore other options compatible with the Switch.

The Split Pad Pro itself doesn't have a built-in battery, so it draws a small amount of power directly from your Nintendo Switch when attached. Most users notice minimal impact on overall battery life during typical handheld play. However, extended gaming sessions with any accessory can gradually reduce your Switch's battery faster than light use.

Many gamers find the Split Pad Pro more comfortable for extended play thanks to its larger grips and full-size controls. The ergonomic design helps reduce hand strain, especially during long handheld sessions. Comfort can vary from person to person, but it's a popular choice for those who want a controller-like feel on the go.

The Split Pad Pro is compatible with most Nintendo Switch games in handheld mode. It's especially popular for action, adventure, and shooter games that benefit from precise controls and larger buttons. However, it doesn't support motion controls, HD rumble, or NFC features, so games requiring those may need standard Joy-Cons instead.
