Choosing the right size dual trash can depends on your kitchen space and how much waste and recycling you generate. Here are a few tips:

• Measure your space: Check the spot where you plan to place the bin to ensure it fits comfortably.
• Consider your household size: Larger families may benefit from bigger capacities, while smaller households might prefer a compact option.
• Think about waste habits: If you recycle a lot, look for a bin with a larger recycling compartment.

Review product dimensions and capacities to find the best fit for your needs.

Keeping your dual compartment trash can clean helps prevent odors and keeps your kitchen fresh. Here’s a simple routine:

• Empty both compartments regularly.
• Wipe down the interior and exterior with a mild soap and warm water.
• For stubborn spots, use a soft brush or sponge.
• Dry thoroughly before adding new liners.

Some bins have removable inner buckets, making cleaning even easier. Avoid harsh chemicals to protect the finish.

Most dual compartment trash cans are compatible with standard trash bags, but using the correct size helps prevent slipping and makes removal easier. Check the product details for recommended bag sizes or codes. Some bins have custom-fit liners for a neater look, but regular bags can often work if sized properly. Always secure the bag around the rim to keep it in place.

Dual compartment trash cans are designed to make recycling more convenient by keeping waste and recyclables separate in one unit. This setup can help streamline sorting and encourage recycling at home. Look for bins with clearly labeled compartments or color-coded buckets to make it easy for everyone in your household to use. Placement in the kitchen or pantry can also boost recycling habits.

Placement depends on your kitchen layout and workflow. Here are some ideas:

• Near the prep area: Makes it easy to toss scraps and recyclables while cooking.
• By the sink: Convenient for rinsing recyclables before disposal.
• Inside a cabinet: Keeps the bin out of sight if space allows.

Choose a spot that’s accessible but doesn’t block walkways. Consider the lid style—step or butterfly lids work well in tight spaces.
